Illusion

Picture a man standing alone,
Alone before a group of men.
Picture the man struggling visibly
With the lies pouring forth from his lips.
Picture him somehow believing those lies
That are a very real part of his soul.
Picture his attempt to convince them
That his lies are the truth they must know.

Picture another man, alone just the same,
Facing another group with his lies.
Picture this man completely at ease
With the same lies the other man told.
Picture this group accepting the lies
And swearing their souls to follow.
Now picture the reason why this man succeeded
Where the other was destined to fail.
