Deadpool 2<\/em> more.\u00a0 The focus on “family” was nice, and a-ha’s “Take on Me” is now nearly permanently stuck in my head, which I think everyone can agree is no bad thing.<\/p>\nIncredibles 2<\/strong><\/p>\nAs I recall, this year [2018] each of my children went to one movie with a parent, just the two of us (not counting\u00a0Infinity War<\/em>).\u00a0\u00a0Incredibles 2<\/em> was the choice of my younger son, and while I don’t think it was as good as the original movie, we both enjoyed it greatly and had fun together.<\/p>\nMission: Impossible – Fallout<\/strong><\/p>\nMy older son and I went to\u00a0Fallout<\/em> together.\u00a0 I think we originally saw the trailer before Infinity War<\/em>, and he immediately told me we had to see\u00a0Fallout<\/em>.\u00a0 I am a fan of all of the\u00a0Mission: Impossible<\/em> movies except for the second one, and was glad to introduce him to them.\u00a0 We watched 1, 3, 4, and 5 over the next couple of months, and we both loved\u00a0Fallout<\/em>.\u00a0 When I watch a movie, I will get emotionally involved in the story and appreciate the action, but I don’t generally have physical reactions to, e.g. jump scares or plot reveals, etc.\u00a0 There were several times in\u00a0Fallout<\/em> that had me on the edge of my seat, tensely awaiting the outcome of a scene.\u00a0 It was probably my favorite entry in the series next to the original installment.<\/p>\nPlus, Superman’s missing mustache!<\/p>\n

Ant-Man and the Wasp<\/strong><\/p>\nPaul Rudd is just fantastic in everything he is a part of.\u00a0 That is all.<\/p>\n
Black Panther<\/strong><\/p>\nBlack Panther<\/em> was interesting to me.\u00a0 It’s a movie that I probably would not have been interested in had it not been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that I am glad I saw.<\/p>\nCoco<\/strong><\/p>\nFrom 2017.\u00a0 Another pretty great Pixar entry.<\/p>\n
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle<\/strong><\/p>\nAlso from 2017, somewhere near the end.\u00a0 I liked the original\u00a0Jumanji<\/em> as a kid, and I still enjoy watching it from time to time.\u00a0 I wasn’t really expecting much from\u00a0Welcome to the Jungle<\/em>, and was very pleasantly surprised.\u00a0 I’ll definitely check out the third installment.<\/p>\nSolo: A Star Wars Story<\/strong><\/p>\nWe saw\u00a0Solo<\/em> because, well, it’s a\u00a0Star Wars<\/em> movie.\u00a0 And it was better than it had any right to be.<\/p>\n– Movies that made me say, “meh” –<\/h3>\n
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom<\/strong><\/p>\nJurassic World<\/em> did not do it for me, and I was surprised at how much money it made at the box office.\u00a0 The sequel did not do it for me even more.\u00a0 I love me some Chris Pratt, so there’s that, but the original Jurassic Park<\/em> will always be my favorite.<\/p>\n\u2013 Movies that made me say, \u201cWhy on earth did I watch this?\u201d \u2013<\/h3>\n

Aquaman<\/strong><\/p>\nThe current DCEU has had 3 terrible movies, 1 generally OK one, and 1 really good one.\u00a0 I wonder where Aquaman<\/em> will fall.\u00a0 I hope at least generally OK.<\/p>\nRalph Breaks the Internet<\/strong><\/p>\nWreck-It Ralph<\/em> was a fun movie, and the sequel looks fun, as well.<\/p>\nSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse<\/strong><\/p>\nThis is getting great reviews, and as a Spidey fan I really should have seen it by now.\u00a0 Alas.<\/p>\n
