How did I fare with my goals for 2015<\/a>?<\/p>\n

Books to Read<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was a low-scoring category, with me only reading The Lord of the Rings<\/em>.\u00a0 I think we can all agree that this was an important accomplishment, but I can do better.\u00a0 I’m going to try to be ambitious and not only bump the rest of the list to my 2016 goals, but add other books to it.<\/p>\n

TV Seasons to Watch<\/strong><\/p>\n

Haven’t seen before:<\/em><\/p>\n

Another low-scoring entry, with only 1\/5.\u00a0 I watched DuckTales<\/em> early in the year, and never found time for the rest.\u00a0 I’m hopeful, as I always find myself in January, that I will be able to complete this section in 2016.<\/p>\n

Have seen before:<\/em><\/p>\n

4.9\/8.\u00a0 I missed Alias<\/em>, Life<\/em>, <\/em>and Pinky and the Brain<\/em>.\u00a0 Watching Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em> took the entire year, and I still didn’t finish the last few episodes until the first few days of 2016.\u00a0 The reason TNG <\/em>took so long is because I watched it together with my children, which was a highly rewarding experience.\u00a0 My daughter now loves Star Trek<\/em> and it was wonderful to share a show I loved as a teenager with my kids now.<\/p>\n

Watched them all, with the exception of Major Crimes<\/em> season 4.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen the first half and will watch the second half in 2016.<\/p>\n

8\/13, missing 007: Spectre<\/em>, The Good Dinosaur<\/em>, Fantastic Four<\/em>, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2<\/em>, and Justice League: Gods and Monsters<\/em>.\u00a0 I plan to watch the remaining movies in 2016.<\/p>\n

BDs\/DVDs I [try to] watch at least once a year:<\/em><\/p>\n

BDs\/DVDs I haven\u2019t watched since 2011 or before<\/em>:<\/p>\n

46\/50, about 4% better than last year’s 39\/44.\u00a0 The ones I missed were the Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em> movies, which I (finally) expect to watch in 2016 now that I’ve finished the TNG<\/em> TV series.\u00a0 They\u2019ll be joined by others, becoming since 2012 or before<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Video Games to Play<\/strong><\/p>\n

First-time plays:<\/em><\/p>\n

3\/4.\u00a0 Hyrule Warriors<\/em> really drew me in and sucked up obscenely large portions of my time.\u00a0 Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze<\/em> was at times frustratingly difficult.\u00a0 I couldn’t muster up the interest to play The LEGO Movie Video Game<\/em>.\u00a0 Maybe this year, but I doubt it.<\/p>\n

1\/2.\u00a0 I’m surprised that I played Ocarina of Time<\/em> but not Skyward Sword<\/em>, but it may be that Hyrule Warriors<\/em> exhausted my Zelda-playing for a while.\u00a0 Skyward Sword <\/em>will definitely be on the 2016 list.<\/p>\n

Other<\/strong><\/p>\n

I did some minimal work on both entries; that is, two poetism commentaries<\/a> and two entries in my new “Greatest Talks, Etc.”<\/a> series.\u00a0 I hope to continue both of them in a slightly more productive fashion in 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
