How did I fare with my goals for 2014<\/a>?\u00a0 Read on, dear reader.\u00a0 Read on.<\/p>\n

Books to Read<\/strong><\/p>\n

I finished The Hobbit<\/span> with my kids, and read Elantris<\/span>, The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever<\/em>, The Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant<\/em>, The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant<\/em>, and 3 out of 7 of The Chronicles of Narnia<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Elantris<\/span> and The Last Chronicles<\/em> were first-time reads.\u00a0 I enjoyed Elantris<\/span> once it really got going, but it seemed to take a while to get there.\u00a0 After reading it, along with Brandon Sanderson’s contributions to The Wheel of Time<\/em>, I look forward to reading more of his work sometime in the future.\u00a0 The Last Chronicles<\/em> were somewhat of a disappointment, but did have some good moments.\u00a0 The original Chronicles of Thomas Covenant<\/em> remain my favorite of the books, and the ones I expect to read again in the future.<\/p>\n

The rest of the list will get bumped to 2015, with The Lord of the Rings<\/em> taking top priority, since it has been on the list since 2011.<\/p>\n

TV Seasons to Watch<\/strong><\/p>\n

Haven’t seen before:<\/em><\/p>\n

I got through more of these than I thought I would, especially after beginning a few old cartoons and wondering if I could make it through the whole set\/series.\u00a0 There are some good things that came out of the ’80s, but there are probably more that have not aged too well.\u00a0 I watched The Adventures of the Gummi Bears<\/em>, Chip ‘n’ Dale Rescue Rangers<\/em>, The Super Hero Squad Show<\/em>, TaleSpin<\/em>, and The Transformers<\/em>.\u00a0 The remaining 3 entries will be on my 2015 list (unless I decide to put The Flintstones<\/em> on eBay, which I have debated doing several times this year).<\/p>\n

Have seen before, but haven\u2019t yet watched my BDs\/DVDs:<\/em><\/p>\n

Watched them both.<\/p>\n

8\/12.\u00a0 I missed Heroes<\/em>, Pinky and the Brain<\/em>, Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>, and Star Wars: Clone Wars<\/em>.\u00a0 They’ll be pushed to 2015, and maybe joined by some others.<\/p>\n

Watched them all, with the exception of Major Crimes<\/em> season 3.\u00a0 I’ve seen the first half and will watch the second half in 2015.<\/p>\n

39\/44, 15% better than last year’s 48\/65.\u00a0 The ones I missed were the Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em> movies, which I expect to watch in 2015 after watching the TNG<\/em> TV series, and DuckTales the Movie<\/em>, which I’ll watch in 2015 after finishing my DuckTales<\/em> TV sets.\u00a0 They’ll be joined by others, becoming since 2011 or before<\/em>.<\/p>\n
